Find My Time

Business assessment

The job goes to whoever answers first.

When a new inquiry comes in, how long until someone gets back to them? I find out, next to your top three competitors, and show you where leads slip away between the first call and a signed job.

Sound familiar?

  • "I call them back when I get a chance."
  • The voicemail box is full.
  • Leads live in someone's personal texts.
  • Quotes go out and nobody follows up.
  • You don't know your close rate, and you'd rather not guess.

What I look at

The first hour
A web form comes in at 2pm on a Tuesday. Who sees it, and when? Same question for evenings and weekends.
How you compare
I send one simple inquiry to you and to each of your top three competitors, and time the replies. Politely: no appointments booked, nobody's time wasted.
Follow-up
How many tries a lead gets, who owns that, and what happens to quotes that don't get a yes.
Where leads live
A CRM, a spreadsheet, the inbox or a phone, and how current it is.

What you get

  • Your response time, side by side with your top three competitors.
  • A leak map: every step where leads drop out between first contact and a signed job.
  • A plan to plug the top three leaks, including follow-up steps and a cleanup for wherever your leads live.
  • What it could be worth, worked out from your own numbers: leads a week, job value and close rate. Labeled as an estimate.

Harvard Business Review tested 2,241 companies with a web inquiry. The average reply took 42 hours, and companies that answered within an hour were about seven times more likely to qualify the lead. It's an older study (2011), but the direction hasn't changed.

How it works

  1. Free 15-minute call (optional)

Tell me what's going on. If this review is the right one for you, I'll say so. If another one fits better, or none does, I'll tell you that too.

  2. Short form, 10 minutes

Where your leads come from, roughly how many a week, and what a typical job is worth. Before the call, I run the competitor test.

  3. The competitor test

Before we talk, I send one ordinary inquiry to you and to your top three competitors, and time each reply.

  4. The call, 45 minutes

You walk me through what happens from the moment an inquiry lands to a signed job. Recorded with your OK.

  5. The written report

Plain English. Every finding ranked by effort and impact, and tagged with what it does for you: saves time, brings in money, or makes the work better for your customers.

  6. Review call, 30 minutes

We go through it together and decide what to do first. You can do it yourself from the report, or I'll quote the build at a fixed price.

Straight answers

I won't promise revenue. What a faster reply is worth depends on your leads and your prices, so any dollar figure in the report is an estimate from your numbers, and it says so.

This is a plan, not a build. If you want the follow-up set up for you, I'll quote it at a fixed price.

Will my competitors know?

They'll get one ordinary inquiry, like any customer would send. I don't book appointments or waste their staff's time.

We don't have a CRM.

Plenty of owners don't. The report says whether you need one, or whether what you already use can do the job.
